Claims Management

The sign of a successful claims management program is its ability to promptly deploy and control the appropriate resources to investigate cases and to efficiently manage and monitor “incidents”, claims and potential claims.

Barnescraig’s Claims Management Service provides our clients with a thorough claims management system. We have created an infra-structure for receiving, assessing and reporting on-going activities to our clients. This ensures our clients are able to monitor our efforts and provides them with the necessary information to make appropriate decisions on resolution strategy at the appropriate times. It also allows our clients to put in place the appropriate professional resources, adjusters, lawyers or other experts.

We are able to provide the management service directly or to assist in implementing and monitoring an in-house system. Barnescraig can also provide its Claims Management service on a case-by-case basis, for example, for “major losses”, or on a program-wide basis as an agent of our client or in the role of a Third Party Administrator.

Litigation Management

Litigation Management is an essential component of a proper claims management program.

As with our Claims Management service, Barnescraig’s Litigation Management is available on a broad, program-wide basis, or on a case-by-case basis.

Our Litigation Management service can provide direct management and control of the litigation effort. This may include everything from file review and assessment, organizational analysis, staff training, investigation and assessment of claims, development and monitoring of disposition plans, maintenance and evaluation of litigation budgets, to the development of polices and procedures for selecting, retaining and instructing lawyers.

We recognize that each client may have different needs in terms of Litigation Management. Our most frequent Litigation Management assignments involve the day-to-day monitoring and management of the litigation effort in cases that fall outside our clients’ normal areas of expertise.

Barnescraig has managed a large number of U.S. and foreign-based lawsuits for Canadian clients. We have also been retained to oversee complex litigation and to assist in recovery actions.
